On July 15, according to the official "Wangxin China" WeChat account, Apple Technology Development (Shanghai)'s "Apple Intelligence" large model officially passed domestic regulatory filing. The filing was completed on July 8, 2026, covering Apple mobile devices. This means Apple Intelligence – first announced at WWDC 2024 – has finally secured its "entry ticket" to China after two years.

Alibaba confirmed that Qwen will be integrated as an AI capability into Apple Intelligence, delivering intelligent experiences for Chinese users across iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and visionOS. Users can directly access Qwen's text and image understanding, content generationcapabilities on Apple devices without switching between apps. Meanwhile, Apple's partnership with Baidu focuses on AI-powered search capabilities and upgrading the China version of Siri.
The same filing batch also included seven other on-device generative AI services: Huawei Xiaoyi AI, OPPO AndesGPT, vivo BlueMind, Xiaomi HyperAI, and Samsung Galaxy AI.
Notably, Apple has also partnered externally in overseas markets – integrating OpenAI's ChatGPT since 2024 and recently reaching a multi-year agreement with Google Gemini. In China, Apple ultimately chose to collaborate deeply with Alibaba and Baidu, two leading domestic large-model providers.
