Apple WWDC26 Shocks: Siri Gets Complete Brain Upgrade with Google Gemini Engine
Apple's WWDC26 developer conference will kick off at 10 AM PT (1 AM Beijing Time) on June 8. It will be Tim Cook's last WWDC as CEO. The fully rebuilt standalone Siri runs on Google Gemini, enabling cross-app access to emails, photos and calendars. Apple pays Google $1 billion annually for the license, with all user data processed on its private cloud. iOS 27 supports switching between multiple AI models, and Apple Intelligence only works on iPhone 15 Pro and newer devices.
