OpenAI Launches Lockdown Mode to Defend Against Prompt Injection Attacks
OpenAI officially launched ChatGPT "Lockdown Mode" on June 8, designed specifically for high-risk users and enterprise customers to defend against prompt injection attacks and data breaches. When Lockdown Mode is enabled, ChatGPT will disable all third-party plugins and custom GPT features, limit file upload sizes, and will not retain any conversation history. OpenAI stated that this is an important advancement in AI security that will help government agencies, financial institutions and healthcare organizations use generative AI technology more safely. At the same time, OpenAI also announced it will strengthen security support services for enterprise customers.
