2026 BAAI Conference Concludes: World's First General World Foundation Model Wujie Physis-v0.1 Unveiled

The 8th Beijing Academy of Artificial Intelligence Conference was held June 12-13 with over 10,000 in-person attendees. BAAI officially launched Wujie Physis-v0.1, the world's first general world foundation model, marking a key breakthrough as AI advances from language perception to physical world cognition. Replacing traditional pixel-level prediction with physical latent space representation, the model unifies video, 3D point clouds, haptic feedback and other modalities, supports long-range inference across 50+ complex physical scenarios, and delivers physical consistency, causal action, long-term predictability and generalizability for industrial simulation, embodied AI and scientific research. The conference also unveiled embodied brain models, neuroscience models and AI drug discovery advances, with multiple dedicated agent and world model forums.
